Stem Cell Explorer is a simple WebGL game for Chromebooks and iPads. Players solve a morphogen codebreaker to unlock animated cells, each with short descriptions that connect to real biology concepts such as stem cells, differentiation, and morphogen pathways.
Controls are tap or click only. If a minigame feels too hard, players can skip and try a different one. Completion unlocks a new cell in the Incubator, where cells chirp & dance. Cells are also recorded in the Journal, where players can read interesting facts.
The project communicates the research carried out at BC Children's Hospital in a fun and accessible way. The game is geared for classroom demos and easy digital distribution. We sought to develop a small, educational experience focused on the scientific method, cell types, and differentiation pathways.
Our goal is a clean, low-friction game that teachers can launch in a browser without setup. We keep art playful, interactions lightweight, and science accurate.
